the real world sucks Sat, Oct 21 2006 09:08PM
| | | Out of school, and all I can say is...DAMN I want to go back. Work sucks and I even miss having to check out a zillion (an estimate) books from the library to do research for a paper. Ah, the good old days. |

| | | It's like that picture with the kid holding in cannonball formation inside the mom's camera for 3 months...I figure that 5 months isn't that bad, considering I haven't picked up my diploma yet... (ooops) |

| Oh wow, I have so much faith in my government.
Um, yeah. I guess Scott McClellan is just no match for CJ Cregg.

Huzzah South Dakota Fri, Feb 24 2006 10:36AM
| ...or not really. I don't consider my self to be extremely involved in political issues, but ironically my last three or four posts have involved intelligent design, stem cells, and other issues. Go figure.
February 22, the South Dakota Senate voted to outlaw all abortions. Even those resulting from rape/incest.
The scary thing is that it might get all the way to the Supreme Court so that they might overturn Roe v. Wade...esp. scary with the new additons Roberts and Alito.

Too Many Decisions Sat, Sep 3 2005 11:25AM
| So I guess the time has come when I have to start thinking about what I want to do with my life, which is sad because it seems like I just entered college and I have to graduate in May. All in all it's been fun, I guess. Except for maybe this semester. I thought I was going to love all my classes, and it turns out they all kind of suck. Well, three of them suck, one I'm scared to death of, and another is research/thesis seminar. Hooray.
I think I will have developed an ulcer by the end of the year because all this thinking about the future is starting to make me freak out a bit. Grad school, putting off grad school for a year or two, or just finding a job...I honestly just want to put it out of my mind. But I can't, and that makes me sad.
Where I'm at right now is just going for a job. For the longest time I wanted to go to grad school, but I don't want to teach/go into academia, so it seems kind of pointless. Oh the other hand, I love doing research and learning all the stuff, so maybe it wouldn't be so pointless. I mean, at least it'd be fun. On the other, other hand, what I'd be doing research in doesn't really have anything to do with what I want to work in. On the other, other, other hand, I'm a psych major, which basically requires a PhD nowadays. ::makes woe-is-me hand gesture::
However, I did just get an email from some guy offering to sell me penis patches and give me a really low mortgage rate, so I guess things aren't all bad. | | 1 comment |
| American Idol Wed, May 25 2005 07:08PM | |
| ::sigh::
I'd never watched a full episode of American Idol before last night, and now I've seen 3 hours in the past two days. That's 3 hours I can never get back.
That makes me sad. I'm also sad that I'm sad that Bo didn't win. Boo. Hiss. |

Nostalgia, part 2 Tue, Jul 26 2005 02:43PM

Nostalgia, part 1 Tue, Jul 26 2005 02:26PM
| | | Ahh, memories of when I was like 6 years old and had a Mickey Mouse waffle iron. Here are the results from when I brought it back into action 15 years later. |

'arry Pottah Sun, Jul 17 2005 03:09AM
| Well, I forgot to pre-order the book, but then randomly decided to check at Barnes and Noble to see if they had extra copies to sell. They did. And I got a nifty Lance Armstrong-like green bracelet...which everyone promptly made fun of me for.
It's now 6am. Although I've finished the book, I haven't actually slept yet. And now that I think about it, I'm somewhat tired.
My reaction (don't worry, no spoilers): Number 6 was *much* easier to get through than the previous. I also liked this book better; there was more of the funny comments that I remember from the first 3 books. Harry's still a bit angsty, but much easier to deal with. The book definitely made me cry at the end--talk about a bunch of surprises. Is JK Rowling trying to torture me?! And now we have to wait another 3-4 years for the next one? ::sigh:: At least movie #4 comes out in November. | | 5 comments |

Apparently there was a protest against same-sex marriages (though the bill allowing it has been passed by 1/2 of Parliament)
Highlights from the article include:
"Marriage can only be between man and a woman," said Agustin Cruz, 41. "It's a divine and natural law. Marriage of homosexuals is a lie. You have to call things by their name. The first lie begins when you start calling queers 'gays.' They're queers, it's not an insult, it's the definition of that race of people."
"And they shouldn't have the right to adopt because if those children turn out to be homosexual, who will be to blame, the government?"
Wow. Just wow. Not sure I have words for this...the protest was also calling for Zapatero (Prime Minister) to resign, even though he's finally bringing more liberal policy to the country. | | 17 comments |

Jackson Verdict Mon, Jun 13 2005 02:25PM
| Well, he's cleared of all 10 charges, interestingly enough.
To quote a friend regarding his photo on CNN:
Look at Jackson's face on CNN.
Have you seen that face before?
Look familiar?
Planet of the Apes
Just sayin'...
Sadly enough, it's kinda true. | | 1 comment |

Foxfields Tue, May 24 2005 07:22PM
| | I think it's funny that there are so many posts/pictures relating to Foxfield(s) because this picture pretty much sums up what I remember.
Sidenote: attending Foxfield about 12 hours after entering the country and while experiencing massive jet lag = not much fun. |

So... Tue, May 24 2005 07:14PM
| | Looking back through all my pictures, it seems that I lead a fairly boring life. OR...maybe it's that I lead and increbily exciting life, but I never have my camera with me to document it. I think we'll go with option B for that one.
Moving along, seeing as how this is a sort of photoblog, that probably means I should introduce myself. Or at least say something about myself to begin. I recently came back from a semester in Valencia, Spain, which included four months filled with some of the best times of my lives. This picture was taken in X?tiva, about an hour from Valencia. I think it was supposed to be educational because there were a lot of castles or something. I don't remember--it was kind of cold and they made us walk up and down lots of mountains. |

| So I set up an account for igophoto and within two hours I have people congratulating me for setting one up and demanding that I add content. :) Geez, you guys.
Seeing as how this is my first post, I suppose that means I have a lot to build on. I'm not really sure what to use this space for, and for that reason I guess I'll keep it short and move on to adding the pictures. |
