| | Brings new meaning to "sit on my face."
(It's a seat cushion, if you couldn't figure out from the picture.) |

Go Lance Sun, Sep 4 2005 05:48AM
| | This is in downtown South Norwalk (SoNo, as the poser locals call it) ... it's actually from the end of July (before Lance won again). This building used to be a movie theater but now houses the offices of the Outdoor Life Network, which televises the Tour De France (and other sports that no one actually watches).
Also: South Norwalk is a small and cute, and if you ever find yourself there, I recommend the historical museum - which is also small, but cute and interesting. One of their exhibits re-creates the town of yesteryear using old store fronts and things from the prominent stores. |

Keep off the Grass Sun, Sep 4 2005 05:42AM
| | | The sign was outside my sister's apartment. Ironically enough, the sign itself wasn't allowed on the grass, either... |

Champions Tour Wed, Jun 29 2005 06:20PM
| | I'm volunteering for the Commerce Bank Championship this week (at Eisenhower Park). It's a pro-am, and Jim Thorpe is the two-time defending champion. So far, I've sat in the media room for a total of six hours and not done much, but the actual tournament doesn't start until Friday. Mark Herrmann, a writer for Newsday, seems to be the only one really covering the tournament so far. Check out his latest article here.
I'm also learning a decent amount about golf tournaments. Not necessarily golf itself, but maybe that will come with my next six hours of work... I guess it's growing on me. Then again, I tend to enjoy all the sports I work with (trust me, didn't see that one coming with wrestling this year). |
